Manawatu Microlight Club Introduction

Club sited: Feilding Aerodrome, Campbells Road, Feilding.
Manawatu Microlight Club Inc Hangar and Clubhouse, 06 323 9861.

Feilding Aerodrome hosts one of New Zealand's oldest microlight clubs - the Manawatu Microlight Club Inc established 25 years ago.

With clubrooms, a hangar and three training aircraft, about 40 flying members, three voluntary instructors, RAANZ-affiliation, an on-going flying and friendly social programme, including regular monthly lunchtime barbecues, it has become the club of choice for many microlight trainees in the lower half of the North Island as well as a visiting point for microlight cross country travellers, homebuilt builders and fliers.

Members have racked up an enviable safety record over the years with its instructors having together as much instructional experience as any instructors operating in the NZ microlight scene.

Instruction is from ab initio to advanced and is available every Sunday weather permitting or at other times by arrangement with an instructor or the CFI.

Involved in community activities the club has become known over the years for its free demonstration flights at Manawatu community functions as well as giving trial flights to aviation related organisations (eg ATC, Aviation Scouts) and free microlight passenger experience programmes to community programmes such as Canteen and CCS among others.

Flying anytime. Instruction: Sundays, weather permitting. Phone clubroom to check weather and operations if coming from a distance.
